The Faculty of Law of the University of Bengkulu (henceforth FH UNIB -Fakultas
Hukum Universitas Bengkulu) was established on August 24th, 1982, based on the Decree of
the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 1982. The FH is the only State FH in
Bengkulu Province.
The stipulation of the majors and organisational structures of each faculty within the
UNIB was stipulated based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture Number
0218/0/1992 on June 22nd, 1982. To follow and adapt to the Decree of the Minister of Education
and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17/0/1993 and Minister of Education and
Culture Decree Number 325/U/1994, the FH UNIB opened four speciality programmes; (1)
Civil and Economic Law, (2) State Administrative Law and State Administration, (3) Criminal
Law and Community Protection, and (4) Law and Society Dynamics. Furthermore, based on
the Decree of the Rector of UNIB Number 881/J30.P/PP/1997 in the Academic Year
1997/1998, the FH UNIB only opened three speciality programmes; (1) Civil and Economic
Law, (2) State Administration Law and State Administration, and (3) Criminal Justice System
and Society Protection (Criminal). Since 2005 the Law Study Programme has been accredited
by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (henceforth BAN-PT – Badan
Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi) and gained an A accreditation.
To direct the activities carried out at the FH, all existing activities refer to the Vision,
Missions, Objectives, and Strategic Plans of the FH.
The FH Vision:
becoming a leading and pioneer in social applications based on local values.
The FH proposes international accreditation through the Acquin accreditation agency,
which is registered on the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education to
improve the quality of study programmes and teaching-learning activities at the FL.
